How to Hide the Icons with Text in Taskbar


A taskbar in Windows lets you access the minimized unclosed file, folder or even a document. Any opened file gets stored temporarily in the taskbar when the work is paused by the user. Even after an hour and more, the user can resume their work on that file. The taskbar usually displays the files or data through it, but sometimes, the user accidentally enables the icons with text in the taskbar which is eating too much of space.
It can create confusion while doing work which is annoying as well the desktop look less attractive than before. It is not complicated to fix the issue, but it will be annoying without information to change the taskbar like before. If you have accidentally changed the settings and now you are annoyed by the text with the icon, then follow the easy guide mentioned below and make your desktop attractive like it was before.
Here, how to hide the icons with text in the taskbar
For Windows 10 users
1.       Move your cursor to the taskbar.
2.       Now, right-click on the taskbar.
3.       A menu will open.
4.       Click Properties from the menu.
5.       Go to the taskbar section.
6.       Select Bottom in Taskbar location on the screen.
7.       Beneath it, there is another column.
8.       Click to open a drop-down menu.
9.       If the taskbar is showing the icons with text, then When the taskbar is full option is chosen.
10.   Select Always, hide labels.
11.   This option will work, and the text of the icons will hide behind the taskbar.
For Windows 7 users
1.       In Windows 7, it is more comfortable and time efficient to change the settings.
2.       Go to the taskbar and right-click on it.
3.       Now, click Properties.
4.       It will open the properties dialog box.
5.       In the Taskbar tab, search Taskbar buttons.
6.       Click to open the drop-down menu.
7.       Now select Always combine, hide labels.
8.       Now click Apply and then Ok.
Your space is saved in the taskbar, and the desktop is looking like before. You can reduce the size of the icons from customization option given in the taskbar tab in the Properties dialog box. But the steps mentioned above have helped you to hide the text of the icons in the taskbar.
